MEET ABOLI — FOUNDER & FIRST CREATOR
The Hands Behind Akriti Designs
Before there was a brand, there was simply a woman who loved creating.
Creativity Was Always Part of Her Story
Growing up in Talegaon Dabhade in Pune district, Aboli found joy in creating beautiful things. Painting, decorating her home during festivals and adding thoughtful details to family celebrations were never about recognition or business. They were simply how she expressed herself.
After completing her post-graduation in Human Resources, she began her professional journey in HR Administration with a manufacturing company. Later, after marriage, she moved into teaching — guiding engineering students in Corporate Communication and management students in Human Resources and Economics.
Her career was fulfilling, but creativity never left her. It continued to appear in every celebration at home and every small detail that made a house feel warm and welcoming.
Some passions do not disappear. They quietly wait for the right moment.
A Choice That Changed Everything
Motherhood brought Aboli to a crossroads familiar to many working women: continue along a professional path, or be fully present during the early years of her child’s life.
After thoughtful consideration, she chose home.
It was not a step backward. It was a conscious decision to embrace the responsibilities of a full-time homemaker and mother.
The rhythm of life changed. School mornings replaced office meetings. Family routines replaced professional schedules. And somewhere between caring for her home and her growing child, she found something she had not experienced in years: time. Time to create again.
Rediscovering the Artist Within
What began as curiosity soon became a journey. Aboli learned the art of Kundan Rangoli, spending countless hours understanding techniques, experimenting with designs and refining her craftsmanship.
Her first creations found their way to local exhibitions. There, she discovered not only the joy of creating, but the joy of seeing someone take home something made with her own hands.
Encouraged by that experience, she expanded her work to handmade reusable woollen rangoli mats — carrying the beauty of traditional festive art into a practical form that families could use and cherish year after year.
Each exhibition brought new conversations. Each customer brought new encouragement. But it was her conversations with fellow creators that left the deepest impression.
A Dream Bigger Than One Creator
Through exhibitions and creative communities, Aboli met women with extraordinary talent — homemaker women creating beautiful handcrafted products from their homes.
Their creativity deserved to reach families across Bharat. Yet many shared the same challenge: they loved creating, but found selling difficult. Building websites, understanding social media, making promotional content, running advertisements and keeping up with changing digital platforms often took them away from the work they loved most.
That realisation changed the direction of the dream. It was no longer only about selling her own creations. It became about creating meaningful opportunities for many more women like her.
THE PURPOSE BEHIND THE PLATFORM
A Place Where Creativity Comes First
Akriti Designs was never meant to be just another handcrafted-products brand.
It is being built on a simple belief: homemaker women should be able to focus on their creativity while receiving support to bring their work to the world.
Today, that belief is reflected in every handcrafted creation. Tomorrow, the vision is to build a trusted platform where talented homemaker women from across Bharat can share their work without feeling overwhelmed by technology, marketing or the complexities of online selling.
A place where creativity comes first. Everything else follows.
A PHILOSOPHY OF GROWING TOGETHER
एकमेका सहाय्य करू, अवघे धरू सुपंथ.
Akriti Designs is guided by this timeless Marathi thought: when we help one another, everyone moves forward together. This belief is woven into every creator we hope to support, every handcrafted product we share, every customer who chooses something made with care, and every celebration that begins in a home.
FROM ABOLI
Mine Was Simply the First
When I created my first rangoli, I never imagined it would become the beginning of something much bigger than myself.
Today, every product you bring into your home is a reminder that traditions continue because people choose to keep them alive.
My hope is that one day, Akriti Designs becomes a home for many talented homemaker women — where their creativity is celebrated, their craftsmanship is valued, and their stories are shared with families across Bharat.
Because every Akriti Designs creation begins in a home. Mine was simply the first. And I hope it becomes the beginning of many more.
